With only one short week until show time I am more then counting down the days. I just wanna go already! Just a little longer and I will be out of your hair.
An itty bitty itinerary (subject to extreme changes at any moment):
Sept 13th 4:50pm- Fly to the "City Of Lights"-Paris (nonstop baby)
The first thing I'm doing is running to the Eiffel Tower. I know it's super cheesy but I have to see it for myself. I just gotta. Planning roughly 4-5 days in Paris. It is one of my top attractions. I have always had a special place in my heart for Parisian culture.
Belgium- I MUST taste the most wonderful chocolate in the world.
Amsterdam- I want to do some bike riding in the country that supposedly has more bikes then people. Tulips and windmills would be wonderful too.
Germany's Rhine valley- Hoping to some how get to the Black Forest. It is one of the 7 wonders of the European world. It's difficult to get to by train so hitchhiking may have to be in order. Mother, I swear I will only go with a safe looking middle class family.
Berlin- resilient, reunited and reborn. Sounds like a goody.
Prague- One of my favorite books takes place in this sweet little gem of a city.
Budapest- Thermal Baths!!! And Szoborpark. Rather then smash the statues of communism, they rounded them up and put them in museum park. And then sell souvenirs at capitalist prices.
Vienna- Oh the Mozart concerts I hope to enjoy.
Ljubljana and Lake Bled- Slovnia is sometimes overlooked possibley due to the fact that it is just slightly larger then the state of New Jersy. A beautiful church built on an island in the middle of a lake next to the Julian Alps! I gots ta see that!
Dubrovnyk, Croatia- Currently still a secret jewel of Europe. I wanna see it before it becomes the next Cabo or Cancun. It's pretty difficult to get to by train (Stop reading here Mother) so I may have to be a stow away again.
Siena- It is said to have the most beautiful Piazza del Campo in all of Europe. One of my 17 guide books that I rented from the library tells of a little cafe that gives the most stunning view of the sun setting on the piazza. You will find me there.
Cinque Terre- I am giving atleast five days to this Italian Riviera treasure. It rivals Paris as my top attraction. At this point in my travels I am guessing it will be week 5 of non stop mayhem. This place will be a much needed refuge of relaxation. Ah, the Italian coast with five tiny villages carefully built on the rugged and steep landscape for me to explore and indulge. I hear they have some of the best pesto in all of Italy. I will be the judge of that.
Interlaken & Gimmelwald- I hear the Swiss Alps are kinda pretty. You rent a mountain bike, take a tram up and have a little joy ride down. I hope to do some hiking as well.
Oct 26th 7:50pm- Take a night train from Interlaken, Switzerland to Paris, France. Arrive by 11:50 am to catch my flight home.
Wish me luck and I'm always open to suggestions!
